The way you handle yourself in a Sales meeting, can Make it or Break it for you!
As humans, your Prospects can be mentally nurtured and excited and kept engaged through a few simple tricks that you can practice during your Sales meeting.
Look Directly Into Their Eyes!
We as Humans have a talent for demanding attention when we are in a dialogue. Maintaining Eye contact and looking directly into your Prospects eyes (in a non weird way, of course!) is key to giving them the feeling that we care about the conversation and more importantly, we care about them.
Eye contact would create a wave of Trust between the two sides which is the core of the relationship you need to make a Sale. It also reflects you as a Confident and Established Authority in the conversation.
It is not enough to just look into their eyes when they speaking but to ensure you are actually listening and paying attention and have not blacked out behind your open eyes! (there are a few technics on how to make sure you stay attentive to the conversation that I will teach you in future posts!)
To Be Solid You don’t have to look Constipated!
There is a Funny Person inside all of us, which may even be strongly developed in some of us. Using humor, self humility and cracking a relevant joke or two can ease the stress in the room and put the Prospects into a better mood.
The delicate part is to choose the humor wisely to be (1) relevant, and (2) considerate of cultural or social or ethnical sensitivities to avoid causing an awkward situation.
Maintaining your Smile and showing your fun persona throughout the meeting will reflect on your Prospects and they will see stability hand in hand with humility and openness which will work in your benefit.
If you are not comfortable with humor or smiling at strangers, start putting that in your daily agenda and try and try to the point you find it easy to be used in front of your Prospects.
The Positive Professional Always Wins The Day!
You, as a Sales person carry the burden of holding the Positivity Flag and driving the mood of the session regardless of how illogical or unreasonable Prospects are counter offering you. You have the Ownership of Your Behavior, no matter what is being thrown at you!
Keep the Positive attitude on top of your Rock Solid character and push forward with your “Can Do” disposition. Your Positive stance can affect and convert any possible negativity in the room and can lead to Closing a deal that may looked lost at first glance!
